The winning tigers of May 11 elections are now contemplating on the key issues faced by Pakistan. Senior members of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) are holding extended meetings to sketch comprehensive solutions for major problems like power shortage, inflation, unemployment and terrorism.

Sources confirm that top leadership of PML-N is prone to fully eliminating drone strikes as they target the sovereignty of Pakistan. Few experienced politicians have proposed the option of acquiring drone technology from the US which would increase precision of strikes and decrease the number of innocent casualties.

Military intervention in certain tribal areas by Pakistani army is also been discussed at great length. Referring to the matter, a PML-N member said on the condition of anonymity, “PML-N leadership was convinced that decisions would be made in this area after thorough consultations with key stakeholders including, of course, the security apparatus of the country. Mian Nawaz Sharif has already stated, on the record, that he would do his best to resolve the crisis with the armed forces’ support”.

On the other hand, it is believed that the fate of former dictator Pervez Musharraf would also be decided by the prospective prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif. Musharraf is facing charges of treason, which if proved, will raise questions on his then army subordinates including the incumbent Chief of Staff Ashfaq Kayyani. Sharif will have to be keen-sighted while making the call as he would not want to instigate Pakistan Army which has not meddled with the government in the past five years.
