Fauzia Kasuri – who many believe was the mother of PTI – decides to part ways with her party on several complaints regarding deliberate ignorance from the top party leadership. Kasuri is considered a close associate of PTI Chief Imran Khan. She has actively worked for the women in her party and was recruited as PTI women’s wing president.

Keeping all her golden memories aside, Kasuri believes that PTI has dramatically diverted from its initial vision. She holds the new allegedly corrupt politicians who were embraced by the party before elections for making her feel like an alien in her own party.

“I didn’t join PTI because I thought Imran Khan will be in power. I joined him for his cause: justice. Today that very cause is at stake,” she said.

The PTI has won six reserved seats – four in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and two in Punjab – after the May 11 polls. However, Kasuri blames the leadership for overlooking her importance and experience by not trusting her with a NA seat.

“I stood with Imran Khan when he lost all elections; when people made fun of him… I have no idea where I am going from here, but I am thankful for the association I have had with PTI… The party has been changing for a while,” she added.

Kasuri reportedly gave up her British nationality before May 11 to become eligible for the electoral process. She says her sacrifice went in vain as her party has deviated from the very reason of its formation.

“I have not seen my grandchildren in months. I am dying to hug them, but I cannot, because the US embassy turned it down saying that I will have to wait for my visa to come from Washington now. This is the price I am paying for my sincerity,” she added.
