Premier Nawaz Sharif has invited China’s Gezhouba company to take initiative and fully explore the vast potential of Pakistan’s power sector. Gezhouba Company has already set foot in Pakistani markets and is eager to invest more, especially since the political situation here is stronger and more competitive.
During a meeting with Gezhouba President on Saturday, PM Nawaz was informed about the company’s ongoing Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project‚ which is expected to complete in 2016. Mr Nawaz also met with the chief executives of China Engineering Corporation and Huawei Technologies. The China Engineering Corporation was invited to facilitate Pakistan in converting furnace oil power projects on coal and launch 1000 megawatts power plant in Jamshoro in Sindh province. President of Huawei company took the opportunity to brief PM Nawaz about his company and informed him that they have successfully trained 4‚000 Pakistani engineers in various disciplines.
PM Nawaz and his government are focused on reviving the crippling energy sector of Pakistan. The main aim of this new government is to decrease power shortfall at least to an extent that it would eliminate its adverse affect on the country’s industries. Energy is the backbone of all the business and if the new government is successful in solving this one issue, it might even qualify to win another term. The political career of PML-N is lying on this one aspect.
