BN plans to highlight Anwar Ibrahim’s sexual issues to expose the Kajang voters to ‘the truth’ about the opposition leader in the lead up to the Kajang by-election. The Umno information chief Datuk Ahmad Maslan said that people are being “deceived”. Anwar, who is Pakatan Rakyat’s candidate in the coming election polls, is giving his voters the perception that he is free from all charges or any such cases..
‘His sodomy case with (his former aide) Mohd Saiful (Bukhari Azlan) and his video case.. so the Kajang voters must be told about these. The perception that he has already been acquitted is not verified by the appellate court and the Federal court. There is nothing wrong for us to talk about Anwar Ibrahim so that Kajang voters can pick someone who is really suitable to be their assemblyperson,’ said the Umno information chief, Datuk Ahmad Maslan. The hearing of the prosecution’s appeal over Anwar’s exoneration will be heard on February 12th and 13th while Anwar Ibrahim’s appeal to remove Muhammad Shafee Abdullah from leading the prosecution in his case will be heard on February 11th by the Federal Court.
The video allegations on Anwar were also brought up. Maslan is believed to have referred to the ‘Datuk T’ video shown to several journalists in March of 2011. Anwar has completely denied that it was him in the video shown. Maslan said the people should know and also think carefully over these allegations, as they cannot regard Anwar as totally absolved and acquitted. This, he said were among the things he stressed during the Umno closed door briefing today at a Kajang Hotel.
