The Interior Minsiter Chaudary Nisar Ali Khan said this Thursday that the peace talks with the TTP are being tried to make difficult by continuous bombings and massacre throughout Pakistan. ‘Yes, restoration of peace in Karachi and throughout the country was the top priority of our government. That is why we have encouraged these talks with the insurgents,’ said Nisar, ‘But the continuous attacks by insurgents and the attack on the policemen today can derail the peace talks process.’

Nisar made the comments after TTP accepted the bombing done on a police bus carrying policemen in Karachi. The bomb killed thirteen policemen of the special services unit of Sindh Police. ‘On one hand we are engaged in dealing with elements trying to disrupt peace initiative and on the other with people who want to talk,’ said the Interior Minister, expressing his annoyance on the subject.

Furthermore, the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan held separate meetings with leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Muslim League (Nawaz) and PML-F here at the Governor House. The MQM’s leaders included Babar Khan Ghauri, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Haider Abbas Rizvi and Dr Saghir Ahmed. PML-N leaders included State Minister for Railways Abdul Hakim Baloch, MPA Irfanullah Khan Marwat, Humayun Khan, Saleem Zia, Shah Muhammad Shah, MPA Hji Shafi Muhammad Jamote and Nihal Hashmi Advocate.Whereas PML-F team included Advisor to the Prime Minister Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh and MPA Saurth Thebo.
