The chief (Quaid) of the political party, Muttahida Qaumi Movemennt (MQM), Altaf Hussain, has recently come out in the open and announced that the Pakistani army should now take over Pakistan once again. Pakistan is famous for holding a military coup with many great leaders like Ayub Khan and Zia ul Haq belonging to an Army background. The last time when army took over was during the time when Nawaz Sharif was the Prime Minister and it was General Pervez Musharraf who took over the country. He ruled the country for more than ten years.

This time Altaf Hussain, however, claims that Pakistan needs to be protected and saved as a country and not as a country of democracy. He explained that a military leader will be a much better option for the country in comparison to the current Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mohammad Nawaz Sharif. Several politicians have spoken against the statement made by Altaf Hussain and the latest to join this group is the Jamat-E-Islami chief, Munawar Hassan, who repeated what the other politicians have said against the MQM chief. Munawar Hassan asked Altaf Hussain to withdraw his statement which relates to the military takeover in the country.

Hassan also claimed that the army is a strong institution and he really hopes that they do not pay much heed to what Altaf Hussain stated recently. Whereas the MQM leader Altaf Hussain in return demanded that the religious scholars of Pakistan should issue a decree on the statement of Jamat e Islami Chief Munawwar Hassan over the historic battle of Karbala.
