The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chairman, Imran Khan stated this Saturday that he is ready to challenge Mir Shakeel ur Rehman at any political or media forum and is ready with all evidence against him but he knows that Rehman will never accept it as he knows hes wrong.
Imran held a press conference after his party’s core committee meeting and said that Mir Shakeel is using the channel and the newspaper owned by his media house for his own personal agenda. He further claimed that Geo tv is a tax and PEMRA defaulter whereas the owner of the media house is a blackmailer who would blackmail political party leaders. It is said that the Geo group claimed that they had the power to make or break governments. The PTI chief also took the Pakistan’s ruling party Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and stated that the Geo Group and PML-N’s interests are inter-linked and that Najam Sethi was made the PCB Chief to gain the rights of the cricket series for Geo Super.
The relationship of PML-N and Geo was further exposed after the PEMRA chief was fired by the government on Geo and Jang group owner Mir’s desire. Under the rules, the PTI chief said, PEMRA can allow license of only four channels, but Geo was seeking their 5th license and achieved it. PTI demands that Geo group should tender a public apology for running a campaign against Imran Khan,” he said. It is not his wish but the wish of his party people and his family, he added.
