This Saturday the chief of Jamiat-e-Ulema, Fazl-ur-Rehman backed and welcomed the decision taken by the Pakistani Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif to mark his attendance in the oath taking ceremony of the new Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi who won a landslide victory in the recent elections. Nawaz Sharif will be attending the ceremony with representatives from other countries in the SAARC agreement on the 26th of May, Monday.
Fazl , while talking to the reporters said that he supports the decision by the Pakistani government as it will be taken as a good gesture by the Indian community. He said Islamabad and New Delhi were serious to resolve their long awaiting disputes by negotiations. He said that the invitation will give Sharif a good opportunity to observe the new Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government and that he hopes the both the countries would work to improve their bilateral ties. He further added that Pakistani government should work on improving ties with all the countries as the future of Pakistan lies with the future Asia.
On the failure of the dialogue process with Tehreek-e-Taliban in Pakistan, Fazl said that he had objected the mechanism of dialogue process from the beginning and that the results of the peace talks had proved him right. He said that this end to the peace talks was the only logical end. About the media crisis concerning Jang/Geo group, he said that the channel was in the grip of Almighty Allah for its deeds. He said that all institutions should work in their defined limitations.
