This Wednesday, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan Tuesday demanded the resignations of the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the Law Minister Rana Sanaullah over the brutal killings of the PAT supporters. While investigating the conditions of the supporters injured at the hospital and asking Dr Tahirul Qadri’s son, Hassan Mohiyudin Qadri about what happened. He assured him that PTI would stand with PAT and protest against the government if needed.
“Shahbaz Sharif is in charge of the province, while Rana Sanaullah is a law minster and also running the home ministry. So they cannot avoid the responsibility of the killing of innocent people. So they [Shabaz Sharif and Sanullah] must resign from the office,” Imran maintained. This Tuesday, the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri’s house was attacked by the police force of Lahore accompanied by the very loyal PML-N supporter Gullu Butt. They attacked the PAT supporters outside the Model Town residence of Dr Tahirul Qadri and his family, also aiming gunshots at the windows and doors of their house. The police fired shots at the supporters and beat most of them till they could not stand back on their feet.
More than eighty people were injured and eight were declared dead on the spot. Two women were part of the deceased. The death toll has now increased to eleven as the injured supporters of PAT wait for assistance by the General and Jinnah Hospital doctors.
