This Friday, near the Makki Mosque in Karachi, a blast killed two people and injured seven others. The blast occurred in Sardar after when the suicide bombers motorcycle which was loaded with explosives collided with another vehicle in the area. About four kilo of explosives was used in the blast.

 The Additional IG Police Ghulam Qadir Thebo informed reporters that the suicide bomber was apparently going towards the area of target when the accidental collision with another vehicle caused the explosives to be set on fire. “Fortunately there have not been many casualties or injuries because the blast took place some distance from the parking plaza on an open road and it was low intensity,” Thebo informed. The injured were shifted to the nearby Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) where an emergency was imposed. The area of blast was crowded with people due the holy month of Ramadan.

According to a local TV channel, one suicide bomber has been identified by the police. The name of the attacker is Abdul Fatah who was living in Karachi but originally belonged to Nawabshah. When the Karachi police raided his house in the city, they found that he had a wife and also a three year old son. Search operation has been started in the area near the blast to look for other hidden terrorists. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the Qaim Ali Shah have condemned the blast. The security should be increased all over Pakistan in this holy month.
