This Wednesday, a bus felt into a gorge in Andhra Pradesh which led to the death of eight people. These were mainly students who died after the accident while travelling from Penukonda. 20 other were injured in the unfortunate bus accident.

According to India Today, the state-run bus in which they were travelling turned over completely and fell into a gorge in Andhra Pradesh’s Anantapur district this Wednesday morning. The terrible incident took place at about 8:30 AM when the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus was going to Penukonda from Madakasira in the district, Anantapur District Superintendent of Police Rajsekhar Babu informed. “As per the information available, at least eight people were killed in the mishap. Police personnel are carrying out rescue operation,” Babu further informed PTI over the phone.

Joint Collector S Satyanarayan said that the injured have been shifted to different hospitals in Hindupur and Anantapur. He further added that some road work was going on near the accident spot which might have caused the bus to turn turtle and fall into the gorge.
