It is reported that Queen Elizabeth II will pay a visit to Brisbane and Melbourne at some stage when she travels to Australia in October for a 10 day visit. This trip will be the Queens first visit down under for the best part of 6 years.

The purpose of Queen Elizabeth visit is the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting also known as CHOGM which will be held from 29-30 October in Perth, Western Australia.

The Monarch Queen alongside Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh will turn up on October 19th in Canberra, the capital of Australia. After that they will fly off to Perth on 26th October for the meeting.

Upon hearing the news of Queens plans of visiting Brisbane and Melbourne, Anna Bligh the Queensland Premier said it was “great news” and will give lift the state of Queensland that has dealt with disasters all summer.

She Said” I know Prince William’s visit really gave people a shot in the arm after the terrible disasters that we had and I’m sure that people will feel the same when they see Queen Elizabeth here in late October,”

She added “I’m sure there are many people who’ve had a tough 2011 and having a visit from the reigning monarch will mean a lot to a lot of Queenslanders.”
