Australian teenager dies in Bali

A 16 year old teenage boy from Australia lost his life in Bali while snorkel diving with the family on Thursday. The cause of death of the teenager after initial investigations has been declared to be drowning.

Jake Francis McCabe, the teenager who lost his life, belonged to central coast side of New South Wales in Australia. Tourist authorities have announced that the tourist belonged to Australia and died early morning on Thursday while snorkeling from Nusa Lemdongan which is an island on the eastern side of Bali. They also announced that no autopsy has been carried out on the dead body but it is clear that the teenager died due to drowning. The island of Nusa Lemdongan is a popular tourist spot for diving, surfing and snorkeling amongst the Australian tourists specifically.

The spokesperson of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade confirmed on Friday that the boy who lost his life yesterday belonged to Australia. He also said, “Consular officials from the Australian consulate-general in Bali are providing consular assistance to the teenager’s family in Bali.”

Concerned tourist authorities on the Island arranged for the body to be taken to Bali. It has been handed over to the family.
