U.K. government will today publish the mid-term audit review of the Coalition’s success and failures that was not published earlier on Monday.
Mr. Cameron has declared that the dossier detailing progress on hundreds of pledges made by the coalition will be “full, frank and unvarnished”.
Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg has promised last month that the government aims to publish a “candid” audit of the government’s progress as part of a Mid-Term Review “which would surprise on the upside”.
Sources have revealed that the audit consisting of 36,000 words had been held back for a recheck and it would show that 90% of pledges had successfully been met.
The opposition and Labour leader, Ed Milliband had accused Mr. Cameron for intentionally burying the secret document due to having no “high hopes” from it, adding it was an “audit of coalition broken promises”.
While, Mr. Prime minister dismissed the accusation by saying that government is going to publish “every single audit of every single promise – all 399 pledges set out in the Mid-Term Review”.
However, the government failed to meet all the promises and had missed around 70 pledges including some on pensions, road building and criminal justice.
Still, the coalition government is hopeful that they delivered better services thanprevious governments in the 1980s.
