Hundreds of train travelers stranded in Eurostar due to defective meter cupboard

More than 600 train travelers who were on their way to Brussels and Paris were stranded at ‘s-Gravendeel. Smoke arose in a meter cupboard of the Eurostar, on which the train was stopped.

Research by the fire brigade showed that the train could continue, but it took too long to start the train.

Passengers stood according to regional broadcaster Rhine Already for more than an hour to wait. Because the air conditioning did not work, it became too hot on the train. An ambulance was waiting along the track to be sure.

The travelers have switched to a domestic train that stopped next to the stranded Eurostar, and returned to Rotterdam Central. There they were taken care of by NS staff that helped them plan a new journey.

Due to the defective train between Rotterdam and Breda, no trains run on the high -speed line. The Dutch Railways expect train traffic to be started at 2.15 pm.
