Again crew members saved from the sea after Houthi attack on ship

Last night, crew members of the Eternity C were taken out of the Red Sea, the EU protection mission reports Aspides. The three crew members and a security guard were in the water for almost 48 hours before they were saved.

Their ship was sinked by the Houthis from Yemen yesterday, after two days of attacks. At that time, six others were taken out of the water by a private security company.

Four people were killed at the Houthi attack. The rescued crew consists of eight Philippines, an Indian and a Greek.

In the hands of Houthis

Eleven people on board are still missing. Probably some of them fell into the hands of the Houthis.

A spokesperson for the Yemeni rebels, who have been in service in part of the country for years, said yesterday that they had saved, cared for crew members and brought them to a “safe location”. According to the United States, they were not saved, but abducted.

This week another ship was blown up by the Houthis. This makes the relative peace for merchant ships on the Red Sea gone.
