Westminster paedophile inquiry head Baroness Butler-Sloss quits to head the probe into allegations of historic child sex abuse, acknowledging that her family links to a former attorney general would “cause difficulties” to conduct the process.
The retired judge was under continuous pressure from the MPs and the victims of the historical child abuse case due to her being an establishment figure herself as her late brother; Sir Michael Havers was the attorney general and was reported to be involved in the alleged cover-up of the whistle-blowing MP Geoffrey Dickens airing claims about abuse by a senior diplomat in Parliament.
After stating to have “honoured” for being chosen to lead the paedophile inquiry, Lady Butler-Sloss has said: “It has become apparent over the last few days, however, that there is a widespread perception, particularly among victim and survivor groups, that I am not the right person to chair the inquiry. It has also become clear to me that I did not sufficiently consider whether my background and the fact my brother had been attorney general would cause difficulties.
“This is a victim-orientated inquiry and those who wish to be heard must have confidence that the members of the panel will pay proper regard to their concerns and give appropriate advice to Government.
“Nor should media attention be allowed to be diverted from the extremely important issues at stake, namely whether enough has been done to protect children from sexual abuse and hold to account those who commit these appalling crimes.
“Having listened to the concerns of victim and survivor groups and the criticisms of MPs and the media, I have come to the conclusion that I should not chair this inquiry and have so informed the Home Secretary.
“I should like to add that I have dedicated my life to public service, to the pursuit of justice and to protecting the rights of children and families, and I wish the inquiry success in its important work.”
Home Secretary Theresa May has insisted to have no regrets in hiring the peer who she still believed was the right choice to lead the inquiry and would have done “an excellent job”.
Mrs May has also told to be “disappointed” by the peer’s decision and said a replacement would be announced at the earliest possible.

Crimes against children are so heinous that accused pedophiles like these politicians, Sylvain Kustyan, Jimmy Savile,Jerry Sandusky, etc.and their enablers (including Dame Sloss, if she, indeed, protected pedophiles and the Church!) must be apprehended before they have years to continue to destroy young lives.Savile and Sandusky are now out of the picture. But unfortunately, Kustyan, who has been formally charged with two counts each of 1st Degree Sodomy and Sexual Abuse of a ten-year-old little boy, fled to avocomment_ID imminent arrest. Kustyan, formerly of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Hermin/ Mazingarbe, France, as an English teacher, has led numerous groups of schoolchildren on trips to the US, the UK and Ireland.. Pedophiles condemn their victims to a lifetime of emotional and psychological trauma and often permanent physical ailments as well. Since the average pedophile has 300 different victims in their lifetime and since the reccomment_IDivism rate among pedophiles is virtually 100% and since there is no effective treatment and no known cure they must be stopped ASAP!
