In the first of its kind pastoral letter delivered by Church of England bishops before an election, they have identified a “growing appetite to exploit grievances” and “find scapegoats” in British political life. The unprecedented letter ahead of the May general election warns that people are feeling disconnected from politics and demanded for a “fresh moral vision of the kind of country we want to be”.
Essentially, the letter urged people to participate and vote on 7 May, declaring it the duty of every Christian adult to vote. The letter discovered that “worrying and unfamiliar trends” are appearing in British national life as there is a “growing appetite to exploit grievances, find scapegoats and create barriers between people and nations.” Addressing the audience at a press conference on Tuesday, the bishop of Norwich alleged that the letter is intended to counter arguments from those, including comedian Russell Brand, who would not bother to engage with politics and vote.
The Right Rev Graham James stated that “I think we hope that this will animate Christians to engage in politics. What we want them to do is to engage in the political processes,” adding that “we’re conscious that there are a number of voices around, probably the most famous of which is Russell Brand, telling people that they shouldn’t bother with voting and shouldn’t bother to exercise their hard-won democratic freedoms.” The letter said that “I’m conscious, just going around some of our youth groups and speaking to youth leaders, that that has had a more profound effect than I had anticipated.”
The reason why political parties have a lack of vision is because their vision has been totally compromised ultimately, by the will of the global corporation’s quest for year-on-year increased profits and shareholder divcomment_IDends. With this ultimate aim, social-economic theories do not exist anymore, only corporateocracy and Partyocracy all rolled into one. Unfortunately for the rich and powerful this revised global master-plan has the end game of destroying human sustainability in the process. Then, there are no winners not even for those who control this system with no empathy for others. That is why the Church is a lone voice in Britain today, as they see the dark scomment_IDe of our politicians prefixed vision of the future. Unfortunately the political masters and elite from all political persuasions cannot see the woods for the trees through the powerful lobbying power of the mighty corporations and particularly the Global 2000, who controlled last year according to Forbes 51% of all world trade or around $39 trillion in nominal terms (source – Statista 2015). Therefore the mighty corporation with its multi-million donations and lobbying system invades all walks of life through political means, as no-one gives without receiving and that is more so for big business than for anyone else. Now we have pan-global trade agreements in place or being put in place that will join the world together. But these so-called trade deals are forever once signed and are irrevocable once signed. So that means if our politicians sign up to these legally binding global agreements and they appear to be going to do that, the corporation becomes the major player in the whole operation and where the new international trade laws created, will take precedence over all sovereign laws no matter what. Overall and according to the NAFTA as a single example of other previous signed treaties according to former United States Secretary of Labor Robert Reich, some 700,000 American jobs have ben lost to foreign nations – ‘How Trade Deals Boost the Top 1 Percent and Bust the Rest’ – http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/how_trade_deals_boost_the_top_1_percent_and_bust_the_rest_20150217?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%253A+Truthdig+Truthdig%253A+Drilling+Beneath+the+Headlines
But if the TTP and the TTIP go forward these job losses in the USA and EU will look like a storm in a teacup as these treaties make NAFTA look like a minnow. Indeed comparing the difference in size, the predicted outfall is that multi-millions of people will be out of work as jobs go to the cheaper labour rate nations of the world – http://worldinnovationfoundation.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/the-ttip-transatlantic-trade-and.html
Unfortunately this will become fact as it has done so for previous so-called free trade treaties.
