On Jan. 9, 2011, 17-year-old Niko Arlia attended a party at Killarney Community Hall. Several fights broke out inside the hall and Arlia was stabbed.

He died of his injuries on scene. Kevin Moffett, 19, was charged with one count of 2nd degree murder and one count of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.

The ongoing police investigation has resulted in the identification of two additional individuals who were injured during the fights inside the community hall. As a result, Kevin Moffett has also been charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of aggravated assault.

Moffett remains in custody in the Edmonton Remand Centre and appears in docket court on these charges and unrelated matters this morning (Friday, Mar. 11) at 9:00 a.m.
