Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 1417 Murrayhill Drive about 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday (March 29).

The victim, Antonio Ortega Carranza, 56, of the above address, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer B. Evans and Officer T. Andrade reported:

Mr. Carranza and his wife returned to their residence at the above address after closing their nearby taqueria stands. Before entering their home, they were confronted by four unknown masked suspects. Two of the four suspects forced the Carranzas inside their house and forced Ms. Carranza to the floor. Mr. Carranza was then forced into the garage. The other two suspects began to ransack a dresser inside one of the bedrooms, where they took unknown items. A struggle then ensued between Mr. Carranza and the suspects inside the garage. The suspects then shot Carranza and fled the scene with an unknown amount of cash.
