26 year old Wallaceburg man charged for sexual assault on a minor

A Wallaceburg man is in police custody for sexual related offences against a minor.

On Tuesday, a 13-year-old girl attended a medical facility in Wallaceburg and disclosed to a nurse that she had been the victim of a sexual assault that occurred on May 9th. The nurse immediately contacted police.

It is alleged that:

– The girl and the accused met online last summer. They had conversations through You Tube, Facebook, and MSN Messenger, and eventually agreed to meet. The girl was 12 years old at the time.
– They met in a secluded area in Wallaceburg and had a sexual encounter. They met two more times in the following weeks and had additional sexual encounters.
– On May 9th the two conversed via Facebook and agreed to meet again. This time the man forced the girl into a sexual encounter.

A 26-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with four counts of sexual assault, four counts of sexual interference, and four counts of an indecent act. He is scheduled to appear in bail court today.
