Two arrested in the murder of Toronto man Nitish Khanna

Peel Regional Police Homicide investigators have made several arrests and are looking for two more individuals wanted in connection to an early morning altercation, which claimed the life of a 19 year-old victim. This is Peel Region’s tenth homicide of 2011.

On Monday, June 20, 2011, at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers responded to an address on Torbram Road for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male suffering from obvious signs of trauma. In spite of the best efforts by paramedics, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has since been identified as Nitish KHANNA, a male resident of Toronto.

On Tuesday, June 21, 2011, investigators from the Homicide Bureau arrested the following individuals in connection with the case:

Harsimran Singh BAL is charged with one count of Second Degree Murder. BAL, a 19 year-old Brampton man, did appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Wednesday, June 22, 2011.

Daljinder SIDHU is also charged with one count of Second Degree Murder. SIDHU, a 24 year-old Toronto man, will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Friday, June 24, 2011.

The investigation is still ongoing and investigators are still attempting to confirm the identities of the outstanding parties. Investigators strongly believe that they may have fled Canada to their country of origin, India.
