On July 6,2011 Coquitlam RCMP received a call from BC Ambulance Services to assist with a found body.

The body had been located on a nature path within the residential area near Spuraway Ave and Ranch Park Way in Coquitlam, BC

Initial investigation by the Coquitlam General Duty and Serious Crime Members determined the death to be suspicious, and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called to attend.

IHIT is now leading the investigation with the assistance of Coquitlam RCMP, Lower Mainland District Forensic Identification, Police Dog Section and the Lower Mainland Tactical Troop.

A perimeter of the area has been set up and police are conducting neighborhood enquiries. At this early stage of the investigation, the identity of the deceased has not been confirmed. IHIT can confirm that the body is that of a male.
