Waterloo man Sohiab Malik charged for kidnapping

Investigators from the 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have made additional arrests in relation to a kidnapping and forcible confinement from a Featherston Drive residence in Mississauga.

On Thursday, January 20, 2011, at approximately 12:00 p.m., Peel Police attended an address on Featherston Drive, in response to a complaint of two missing men. The investigation determined that two men had been kidnapped.

On January 26, 2011, one of the men, (Johnny) Xiu Jun FEI, was located. The second victim, Mr. Jianguo (Tony) HAN has not been located. The investigation has resulted in the discovery of human remains and officers are currently attempting to confirm the remains are of Mr. HAN.

The investigation had previously resulted in the arrested of several individuals, and the issuance of a warrant for the arrest of Mr. Guo Wei WU. Mr. WU has still not been located and investigators continue to search for him.

On Wednesday, July 13, 2011, additional arrests were made by investigators:

· Senthuran SABESAN, a 23 year-old resident of Waterloo, was arrested in February and charged with two counts of Kidnapping with the Intent to Hold for Ransom. On July 13, 2011, he was arrested again and charged with Aggravated Assault and Manslaughter. He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Thursday, July 14, 2011.

· Gobinath SHANTHKUMAR, a 23 year-old resident of Newmarket, was arrested on July 13, 2011, and charged with two counts of Kidnapping with the Intent to Hold for Ransom, Aggravated Assault and Manslaughter. He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Thursday, July 14, 2011.

· Sohiab MALIK, a 21 year-old resident of Waterloo, was arrested on July 13, 2011, and charged with two counts of Kidnapping with the Intent to Hold for Ransom, Aggravated Assault and Manslaughter. He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Thursday, July 14, 2011.
