Four dead in Winnipeg fire

As previously released, on July 16th, 2011 at approximately 2:00 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a working fire at a residence located in the 200 block of Austin Street North.

The fire has since been extinguished and six adults were conveyed to hospital in critical condition. Three males and one female have succumbed to injuries sustained and two males remain in critical condition.

The cause of the fire is considered suspicious in nature. No arrest(s) have been made at this time.

Investigators are not linking this incident to any recently reported gang activity.

Members of the Homicide Unit with the assistance of the Arson Strike Force are continuing to investigate.

Background:
