Man arrested for York University sexual assault

On Saturday, July 16, 2011, the Toronto Police Service arrested a man in connection with a sexual assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

– on Friday, July 15, 2011, the accused gained entry into a student residence at York University,

– he attempted to find a woman whom he had previously met on the campus,

– with the assistance of a friend of the woman, he was able to locate the woman’s room,

– once the accused gained entry into the woman’s room, he sexually assaulted the woman and her friend,

– the accused was arrested by police, in front of the residence.

Faizan Ali, 30, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) two counts of Sexual Assault.

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Saturday, July 16, 2011, room 101, at 10 a.m.

Police believe there may be other victims.
