Toronto man charged for the murder of Khalfani Haughton

On Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at 3:25 p.m., police responded to a stabbing call at 1130 Wilson Avenue.

Officers located an 18-year-old man in the hallway of the apartment building suffering from apparent stab wounds. He was taken to hospital in serious condition.

It is alleged that:

– the victim and the accused were involved in an altercation when the accused stabbed the victim,

– the accused fled the scene but was arrested a short distance away.

The victim later succumbed to his injuries in hospital. He has been identified as Khalfani "Jordan" Haughton, 18.

Derrick Oram, 37, of Toronto, has been charged with Second Degree Murder.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 1000 Finch Avenue West, room 306, 10 a.m.
