This year the Labor Day weekend in Los Angeles has brought out a plethora of traffic accidents. Total number of 5 people have lost their lives in the traffic catastrophe. The vehicles involved in the accidents include a 1971 Chevy Monte Carlo, a pickup truck, a Honda Accord, a BMW and a motorbike. It has been reported that the traffic accidents of this weekend have been much higher than Fourth of July and Memorial Day weekends.

The main cause of the accidents were reported to be drunk driving.This weekend alone around 227 people have been arrested as opposed to 209 from last year. While police officials have reported that a downward trend was observed from last year as only One traffic related accident was reported in the first 36 hours. , unfortunately this year the rate of drunk driving accidents has risen this year. The CHP Officer Ming Hsu. "Unfortunately, the numbers we have for this period are spiking."

The victims of the traffic accidents include a young man, two female passengers, a 43-year old man trying to cross the road and a young motorcyclist. Mostly the drivers of the vehicles were teenagers about 17 and 18 years old. The police has reported the drivers as being under the influence.
