Deadly Shooting at 5500 Kashmere: Inquiry Underway

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 5500 Kashmere about 11:25 a.m. today (Sept. 1).

The victim, Chevis Cooks, 31, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to LBJ Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants E. Cisneros and C. Howard reported:

Mr. Cooks was inside his vehicle in the 5500 block of Kashmere when he was shot.

At this time, there are no known suspects nor motive in this incident.
