Fight leads to Toronto man being charged with manslaughter

On Sunday, September 11, 2011, at 4:30 a.m., police responded to a radio call for an assault on Stoneton Drive.

It is alleged that:

– two men got into a verbal argument which escalated into a physical altercation,

– the victim fell to the ground and sustained a head injury,

– the suspect fled the area.

The victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

On Sunday, September 11, 2011, at 5:41 p.m., Terence Grayston, 28, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault.

On Tuesday, September 13, 2011, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

On Wednesday, September 14, 2011, a post-mortem examination determined the cause of death to be a blunt force head injury.

On Thursday, September 15, 2011, Terence Grayston’s charges were upgraded to Manslaughter.
