It appears that attention seeking habits die hard. Heidi Jones, who has worked for stations in New York and Texas and filled in on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” pleaded guilty to misdemeanor false-reporting charges.

She agreed that she had invented a false story about being attacked on the streets by an unknown person repeatedly. Once investigation had kicked off in full gear, Jones agreed that she had made up the story just to get attention and all her descriptions of the attacker including the setting of attack were fiction.

“I made it up for attention. I have so much stress at work, with my personal life and with my family,” she said.

She is put on a three year probation period with psychiatric counselling and 350 hours of community service. This is the same amount of time the police had spent in her investigation. She has lost her job, due to obvious reasons and also her apartment due to financial constraints. Her lawyer Callan said “She’s paid a high price for the crimes she pleaded guilty to”

As to what forced the meteorologist to fake such a story, her lawyer denied giving any remarks.
