Body found in Winnipeg River

On Sunday, September 25th, 2011 just before 2:00 p.m. emergency services responders were dispatched to the river bank area near the 2100 block of Henderson Highway for a report of a body within the river. 
 
Upon arrival, a body was located and removed from the water.  The Winnipeg Police Service Underwater Search and Recovery Unit will be assisting with this investigation.
 
This investigation is continuing. 
 
Further information regarding this matter will not be released today.
