New Glasgow Police and Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are looking to speak with anyone who observed a suspect fleeing the Mechanic Street area following a shooting of a 44 year-old Trenton man last evening.
Checkpoints are set-up on all approaches into Trenton which include Main Street, Park Road, and Trenton Road. Mechanic Street is closed to traffic as police investigators search for evidence related to the shooting.
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending next of kin notification. An autopsy has been scheduled for later today in Halifax. The investigation continues with the New Glasgow Police, RCMP Northeast Nova Major Crime, and Pictou County District.
