London man Gordon Pocock charged with second degree murder

The London Police Service is investigating London’s sixth homicide of 2011.

On Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 9:04 p.m., the London Police Service received a 911 call from a male who indicated that there had been an altercation at a residence on Simcoe Street near Colborne Street, London. The caller said a male had been stabbed during the altercation. Upon arrival, police located a male in medical distress. The male was transported to London Health Sciences Centre where he was pronounced dead at 9:45 p.m. 

Police continue to investigate the stabbing from last evening. The Victim and the accused were tenants of a rooming house and shared a common area. The victim has now been identified as 56-year-old Dexter Elliott of London. 

Police have further charged 49-year-old Gordon Pocock of London, with second degree murder.

The London Police Service is holding the scene for examination.
