On Wednesday, November 16, 2011, the Ottawa Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit arrested an Ottawa man. The accused had possession of child pornography when he returned to Ottawa from a trip to Thailand. The male was subsequently interviewed which resulted in his arrest and a search warrant being issued for his residence.
On the November 17th, the Internet Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant resulting in the seizure of four laptops and a large quantity of analog and digital media.
Jean Francois Coupal, 45 years old of Ottawa is charged with one count of Possession of child pornography. He will appear in court today.
