Following a tip, investigators from the DRPS Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) executed a search warrant at a residence on King Street East in Oshawa, arresting one male and seizing computer related evidence.
On Thursday November 17, 2011 members of the ICE Unit received a tip indicating the accused was allegedly in possession of and distributing images of child pornography. Officers executed a search warrant at an apartment on King St. East in Oshawa where the accused was arrested, without incident. Investigators seized a large quantity of computer equipment including 20 hard drives with one computer alone containing 6 terabytes of storage, a large number of storage devices and a large quantity of DVD’s.
Daniel Hancock, age 44, of King Street East in Oshawa is charged with: Possession of Child Pornography and Distribution of Child Pornography. The accused was held for a bail hearing.
