Windsor suffered its first homicide in over two years. A 40-year-old injured man who was taken to hospital in emergency on late Thursday night has passed away.

Police has not yet identified the victim. According to Windsor police Sgt. Steve Dickson, the man probably came from the house next door to the veranda where he was found injured. It seems like he came to the neighbor’s house looking for some help. He probably lived at 1400 block of Albert Street.

Crime scene tape cordoned off 1456 and 1462 Albert St. and floodlights shined down onto the two properties until early Friday morning.

The man had fatal wounds when he was carried in an ambulance. Police thoroughly searched the neighborhood for the attacker, who has allegedly fled from the town.

This was the first time since Sept. 27, 2009 that a person was killed in Windsor.
