An ex-girlfriend and three other people have been taken into police custody in connection with the robbery and beating of world poker champion Jonathan Duhamel.

According to police, charges have been placed against two men and a woman on Wednesday, while another man was arrested this morning.

Bianca Rojas-Latraverse, 20, and John Stephan Clark Lemay, 22, face charges including breaking and entering, assault and battery, and robbery.

Duhamel’s agent verified that the arrested woman was poker player’s ex-girlfriend. Also, the woman is the only person among the accused that Duhamel really knows.

During the robbery, Duhamel’s World Series of Poker championship bracelet, high-end Rolex watch and cash was reported stolen. Moreover, the poker champ was also tortured and tied up.

“(They hit me) in the face and all over my body before leaving my house,” Duhamel said in a statement. “After they threatened to kill me I gave them everything I had.”

The police were successful in finding Rolex; however, the coveted championship bracelet is still missing.

“We can say that the investigation is rapidly progressing thanks to information we obtained from the public,” said police spokesman Martin Simard.

The three suspects had a bail hearing scheduled for Thursday morning.
