The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Child Abuse Sexual Assault Unit (CASA) has charged a 20 year old Labrador male with multiple sex-related offences involving two teenaged females.
Stemming from an ongoing Criminal investigation, CASA Officers from the Northeast Avalon traveled to Labrador West and have arrested and charged a 20 year old male. As a result of the investigation, the accused has been charged with two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference and two counts of invitation to sexual touching. The accused and both female victims were known to one another. The accused has appeared in court, was released on strict conditions and will re-appear in a Wabush court on February 23, 2012.
Given the sensitive nature of sex-related offences and privacy concerns regarding the identification of the two female victims, the RNC will not be releasing the name of the accused.
The RNC is continuing their investigation into this incident.
