It seems like Mayor Rob Ford has shed 10 pounds in the first few days of his public weight-loss challenge and is still determined to lose plenty more. On Monday, Ford weighed in at 330 lbs. and one week later, he weighs 320 lbs.

Rob Ford launched "Cut the Waist Challenge" along with his brother Coun. Doug Ford – aiming at getting healthy while raising money for charity.

“It is basically just running a lot, lifting weights and not eating – well, eating very little. Eating like a rabbit. Just stay focused. It is mind over matter,” said Mayor Ford.

Mayor’s brother, Doug Ford also lost 9lbs – going from 275 lbs. to 266 lbs.

He said: “This is the toughest thing myself and Rob have ever done. We have both been exercising vigorously every day.”

According to the Ford brothers, restricting their diet was the hardest part in this challenge. Mayor Ford said his target was to drop 50 lbs. over the next six months.

“This is about getting everyone in Toronto involved, everyone in Canada, about living a healthier life,” said Doug Ford.

However, Ford brothers hesitated to give remarks on recent comments from TTC Chair Karen Stintz, who alleged that burying the entire Eglinton LRT as Mr. Ford has planned isn’t reasonable.

“Not talking about that today!” Mayor Ford snapped.
