Toronto man Chris Thompson dies of multiple gunshot wounds at a barber shop

On Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at 12:46 p.m., police responded to a shooting call at 31 Tapscott Road, at the Cut Creator barber shop.

Police located a man suffering from obvious gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has been identified as Chris Thompson, 35, of Toronto.

A post mortem examination is to be scheduled.

It is reported that:

– a man entered the barber shop and fired a number of shots at the victim

– other patrons and employees were in the barber shop at the time of the shooting

– the suspect then ran from the scene northbound through the parking lot of 31 Tapscott Road toward McLevin Avenue

The suspect is described as wearing dark clothing, carrying a small bag over his right shoulder and believed to be in possession of a long-barreled firearm.
