N.B. man Benoit Leger dies in a fatal vehicle crash

The RCMP District 4 South East are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash in Cap-Pelé, N.B. that happened during the early morning hours of Sunday, January 29, 2012.

26-year-old Benoit Leger, from Cap-Pelé, N.B., died of injuries sustained in the crash. The vehicle he was driving left the road and collided with two trees on Acadie St. in Cap-Pelé.

Leger was alone in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

The preliminary results of the investigation indicate that alcohol, and speed  were contributing factors to the crash.  It appears Leger was not wearing a seatbelt as he was thrown from the vehicle.

An RCMP collision re-constructionist was called to the scene. The investigation is continuing.
