The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a potential sex offender.

On Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at 10:03 a.m., police responded to a radio call in the Sheppard Avenue West/Buckland Road area.

It is reported that:

– a 10-year-old girl was walking by herself on Buckland Avenue when a man in a silver SUV pulled up beside her, waved for her to come closer to his vehicle, and told her to come over towards him

– the girl refused and the man then offered her candy

– the girl managed to run from the vehicle without further interaction

The suspect is described as Asian, mid-to-late 30s, medium build with moustache and unshaven face. He was wearing a dark-grey knitted hat with a baseball-cap-style brim, and a grey jacket. He was driving a clean, newer-looking, silver SUV with dark tinted windows.
