Moncton man Denis Allain charged with attempted murder

A 41-year-old Moncton man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing incident shortly before 4:30 a.m. on February 18, 2012, in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, N.B.

When District 5 RCMP arrived at a home on highway 134 they found a 52-year-old man suffering from stab wounds to his abdomen and back area.  A 36-year-old woman had a minor stab wound to her arm.  Both were taken to hospital where the woman was treated and released while the man remains in hospital in stable condition.

The victims knew their attacker. Police have arrested and charged Denis Allain.  He has been remanded in custody until his court appearance today in Moncton Provincial Court.

The investigation is continuing and more charges are possible.
