On February 20, 2012, a 4-year member of Peel Regional Police was arrested following an investigation by the Professional Standards Bureau.

Constable Peter Takacs of the 11 Division Neighbourhood Policing Unit has been charged with Theft Under $5000 and Breach of Trust. The charges stem from an incident on February 9, 2012, involving found property that was turned over to police at the Meadowvale Town Centre Community Station.

Constable Takacs has been suspended from duty and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on March 21, 2012.
