The Edmonton Police Service Homicide Section is investigating the suspicious death of a woman in southwest Edmonton.
On Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, and on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, a 51-year-old woman was allegedly involved in altercations that took place at a residence in the area of 108 Street and 85 Avenue. The woman suffered serious injuries. On Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, she was taken by EMS to hospital where she passed away.
A 23-year-old male at the residence also suffered serious injuries on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, and was taken by EMS to hospital.
The autopsy for the woman is scheduled for this afternoon.
Police continue to investigate and charges are pending against a 28-year-old male that is in custody.
