After Emy Brochu passed away in a car crash, her boyfriend uses Facebook to spread awareness about the importance of vigilant driving. Mathieu Fortin posted several warnings on his Facebook page in memory of Emy Brochu.

Brochu died around two months ago when her car crashed into the back of a truck near Victoriaville, Que. Fortin also wrote on his page that he wants to “hear her beautiful voice.”

The police did not at once identify the cause of the accident; however, chances are high that a distraction (perhaps a cellphone) might have led to such a horrible incident.

Fortin wrote on Facebook: “The police investigation showed the use of a cellphone while driving was the cause of the accident. This conclusion came as a shock because during the tragedy, I was in a discussion with her.

“An accident can happen quickly. I hope every time you look at your cellphone while you’re driving, you think of Emy and those who loved her.

“At what time is a text or an email more important than life itself? At what point is something on your phone more important than the people that you love?”

Fortin is trying to tell people that a simple distraction while driving can have terrible outcomes. He wants people to learn from his story. He wants them to know how awful he feels so that they do not repeat the mistake and lose someone special.
