A 25-year-old man is facing several charges after three young girls were approached in Ajax.
On Thursday April 5, 2012, around 4 p.m., a 14-year-old girl was walking along Rands Road in Ajax when she was approached by a male in a vehicle. The male asked her to perform a sexual act for money. The girl refused and ran home. A short time later two 14-year-old girls were walking along the same street when they were approached by a male in a vehicle. The male offered them money for sexual acts. The females refused and ran away. None of the girls were physically harmed.
The suspect was located a short time later by police and arrested. David Jardine, age 25, of Scarborough is charged with Invitation to Sexual Touching x3, Solicit Prostitution and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was held for a bail hearing. The accused was living in Ajax at the time of the incidents.
