Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have made a fourth arrest in the Region’s sixth murder of 2011.

This murder occurred on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at approximately 2:50 p.m., when the victim, 28 year-old Kearn Nedd, was shot and killed trying to assist in apprehending one of two suspects committing an armed robbery at a poker tournament. The event, held at the Rozz Banquet Hall located at 200 Advance boulevard in Brampton was suddenly and tragically interrupted by this brazen act, which occurred in broad daylight in front of over 130 people.

Since that time, investigators have worked persistently to track down those responsible for this murder.

Peel Homicide investigators have charged a 25 year-old male with Accessory After the Fact to Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery in Mr Nedd’s death.

Brian Funes â€“ also known by his street name “Spanish” – was in Brampton court yesterday on an unrelated matter when he was charged and brought before the Ontario Court of Justice for a first appearance.

This investigation is on-going as there are still involved parties outstanding and further arrests are anticipated.
