Chevy Malibo driver dies in a vehicle collision at Anthony Henday Drive

The Edmonton Police Service Traffic Section is investigating an early-morning fatality involving a single-vehicle collision on the city’s south side.

Traffic Section investigators were called to the scene, at Anthony Henday Drive and 91 Street, around 3:30 a.m., Friday, April 27, 2012, after a collision was reported to police. Upon arrival, police found a single occupant, deceased, in a Chevy Malibu. 

Witnesses told police the Chevy Malibu was travelling eastbound on the Anthony Henday at a high rate of speed, when it lost control and veered onto the centre grass median, before striking a light standard. 

The single occupant of the vehicle, a male believed to be in his late teens or early 20s, died on scene. 

There have been 12 traffic fatalities in Edmonton in 2012.
